Created for Suzie Jones, bride, Arlington, VA. They’re definitely being discussed, Suzie said they’re a great hit, and they’ve made a facebook presence as well! I created them as magnets for ease of use. I also included a cardstock insert for envelope stability, and used it to highlight the website and ceremony and reception location information. The envelopes were found at envelopemall.com. So far, success! We’ve drafted the invitations, they’re being finalized currently, and I’ll upload those once they get sent out.

Design Marathon

Last October, I volunteered as a designer for the third annual Design Marathon, when I was living in Charlottesville, VA. I didn’t realize how amazing the entire experience was going to be! I ended up being partnered with my friend Andrew Stronge, who has helped me numerous times with coding struggles and when I just needed a second pair of eyes to critique my work. It was great to be able to work together on a project. Our client was CHIP of Virginia, Children’s Health Improvement Program. They were in desperate need of a new website that was easy for them to update; so of course we choose WordPress, and they also needed their logo cleaned up. We were able to meet with them ahead of time to see what they were looking for a gather research materials, and on the day of the event had a mere ten hours to accomplish this. We ended up with a modern and fully functioning website, with about 1/3 of the pages populated with content and a fabulous new logo that was sharp and personalized. When it was time to present, our Client was thrilled to tears at the work we were able to accomplish for their organization. It was also great that when we were finished speaking, one of the directors of the marathon spoke up and said they’d never allowed a website before because they didn’t think it could be done in one day! It was an unforgettable feeling to feel so proud of our work and gratified for volunteering for such a deserving non-profit in our community, at the same time as we were surrounded with our design peers who were doing and feeling the same. Oh, and we ended up being interviewed on NBC29!

New iPhone app!

WordPress is such a fabulous website editing software. I just downloaded the WordPress app for my new iPhone…l think this could be an ingenious solution for my hectic life and might enable me to update my site more frequently and make it more interactive!
